Did you know that eating just one extra cookie every day during the holiday season could cause you to gain one pound? That may not sound like much, but 10 years from now you would weigh ten pounds more than you do right now -- that is, if you keep the rest of your diet the same, and that is asking a lot during the holiday season. Many people gain four to five pounds this time of year because of the temptation of delicious treats and extravagant dinners.

The holiday season is a time filled with parties, family gatherings and lots of food, but with a little help, you can keep from eating too much during the holidays. If you continue to eat a healthy and nutritious diet, you will feel better and have more energy to enjoy the season.

Don't Skip Meals

Many people believe that if they skip breakfast or lunch, they can save up all of those calories for the holiday party that night. That sounds like a good idea, but skipping meals can make you crabby, tired and maybe even leave you with a headache that just might ruin your evening festivities. Plus, when you are really hungry and surrounded by high-calorie holiday treats, you may very easily turn into a raving eating-machine and consume many more calories than the ones you skipped earlier in the day. Don't skip meals; just eat sensibly. A bowl of whole grain cereal and low-fat milk for breakfast, a mid-morning snack of raisins and nuts, followed by a healthy lunch with a big salad or a sandwich made with whole grain bread will keep your body and your brain fueled throughout the day.

Eat Small Amounts of the Foods You Love

No one wants to feel deprived, so go ahead and take a small piece of pie or one cookie -- but not both. Look over the buffet or the serving table, and pick out one thing that you really would love to enjoy. The rest of your plate can be filled with healthy vegetables and fruits, whole grain crackers, cheese and lean meats.

Don't Hang Around the Buffet

It isn't easy to resist the delicious foods you find on a buffet at a party, so get away from the table. Choose your foods and your drink and move to a different part of the room. As they say, out of sight, out of mind. At the very least you will have to think about what you are doing before filling your plate again and again.

Keep Exercising

Exercise is a great way to control your weight, your blood pressure and exercise adds to your good health by reducing stress and keeping your muscles and bones in good shape. Although the holidays are a hectic time, keep your exercise routines going to help ensure that the occasional treat won't land permanently on your thighs or belly. Even if you are so busy that you have to cut your workout time in half, continuing to work out keeps you in the exercise habit. Once you quit your exercise routine, it can be very difficult to start up again -- nevermind the weight you can gain from taking a hiatus.

Maybe you aren’t picky at all—as long as it’s someone who is willing to work on the relationship and who has similar goals for family life. However you define compatibility, keep this in mind whether you are looking for a girlfriend or wife. Someone who is looking for no-strings-attached might not be the best candidate for a wife, just as someone looking for commitment won’t be the best girlfriend, at least not for any extended period of time.

I saw this article. What is cooler than fighting monkeys. I guess they were forced to have mock kick-boxing fights. One word describes this, genius. The very end of the news blurb cites some environmentalists saying orangutans could be extinct in 20 years. That’s why they need to develop new skills. These kick-boxing orangutans have taken initiative to seek the training they needed and adapted to an ever changing world. The orangutans who are still sitting in the jungle picking ticks off each other and singing "I want to walk like you" are the ones who will become extinct. Nature has a universal law, adapt or die. We constantly hear talking points and see legislation that goes against natural laws. Today Ford Motor Company announced mass layoffs\buyouts\early retirements, because it was not allowed to adapt in part because of UAW contracts. You don't hear about Honda or Toyota unable to compete and needing a federal bailout. In fact many Toyota cars have more American parts than GM or Ford (I heard/read it somewhere can't find a source). We are humans not animals so animal laws don’t apply to us.

What’s more humane to society: propping someone up in a job at the cost to all or teaching them to be a self-sufficient contributor?

If there is a country that often takes superstition to different heights, it's India.
Throw salt behind you over your shoulder every morning to have a good day; bury your child's first tooth in cow-dung and throw it over your roof -- it will hasten the child's teething process; you can't marry unless your astrological charts match; about 300 million gallons of waste go into the Ganges every day, yet people go to bathe there as they believe it will wash away their sins ... the list just gets more and more absurd and is endless. (Most Indian politicians follow their faith when they make decisions for their country -- but that's a different story altogether.)

The latest demonstration of superstitious India: Indian man marries female dog to redeem himself of stoning two dogs to death. When he killed those two dogs about 15 years ago, he suffered some form of paralysis and lost hearing in one ear. An astrologer told him that he was cursed for his bad deed and marrying a dog was the only remedy.
What!?OK, just for the record: I like to respect what people have faith in. I am not Indian , I am Cambodian was born in Khmer. I may not believe in most of it, but I do respect it. But when it gets taken to levels like this, I really don't know what to think.

I know India has a huge problem of illiteracy, and poor villagers depend on their local pandit, or astrologer to show them the way. If it helps you in your life, fine -- but where is your head when you are asked to marry an animal?

Not being educated doesn't mean you don't have common sense and it amazes me how all sense of rationality often gets thrown out of the window in the name of faith. It also scares me.

This story reportedly comes from the Amazon, where a crew member from an oil rig went out and took a nap during the middle of his shift. Apparently, he had a reputation for doing this sort of thing, so when he didn't show up for a while, no one thought anything about it. Until it started getting late. A quick examination of the oil rig turned up nothing, so a search party was mounted. It wasn't long before workers came upon a python that had gotten stuck trying to go through a hole in a log. It wasn't uncommon in that area for pythons to eat large prey, but something about this one gave the workers an uneasy feeling. They captured the python and brought it back to the base camp. The following photos show what they found.

Locates at Sen Monorum District in 43-kilometer distance from the provincial town. During the dry season, the waterfall has 15-meter height and 2-meter diameter, and during the rainy season, the waterfall has 11-meter height and 8-meter diameter. The waterfall surrounded by the plantation of Sro Lou and there is a big and brandy tree of Chrey. The Provicail Tourist office in cooperation with the territorial authority has arranged this waterfall spot as the tourist site instead of Boo Sra waterfall that unable to be accessible during the rainy season.

Windows 8 coming in 2012?

According to a roadmap revealed earlier this week, Microsoft will look to release their next updated operating system, codename "Windows 8" in 2012.

The move will keep up the pattern Microsoft has developed in launching major releases every four years. The company, according to the slides, considers Windows Server 2008 a major release and the R2 as a "release updates." Notably, Windows 7 is considered a "release update" as well.

Vista, released in 2007, had its release date pushed back three years when the company scrapped all existing work and started fresh after it was decided to base Vista on the then recently released Windows Server 2003.

History of Football

Football before the 19th century referred to any number of ball games played on foot. The rules of these games differed from one another, some allowing the use of hands “running games”, others forbidding it “kicking games”. One legend has it that the football game rugby, American football’s ancestor, was invented when an Englishman grew tired of the no hands restriction, picked the ball up, and ran. Out of an interest to enforce the rules of the game the other players tackled the fellow. So much fun was this diversion that running football games were born. Whether this is true or not is unknown, but what is known is that football does have its origins in the games played by pre-colonial European peasants.

The first vestiges of what would become American football are found in the 19th century in the games played by students at the elite schools and universities of the United States. A particularly violent running game was played at Princeton University circa 1820, and around this time a kicking game was also being played by students of Dartmouth College. Rules for the Dartmouth game, known as “Old Division Football”, were published in 1871. The first running game to codify its rules was the popular English sport, rugby, and it did so in 1845.While there is some degree of debate over what constitutes the first American football team, most sports historians point to the Oneida Football Club, a Boston club founded in 1861. Nobody knows what rules this club used; whether they played a running, kicking, or hybrid version of the game. It is also known that rugby was taking off in Canada around this time. The Montreal Football club formed in 1868 and is said to have played a variant of English rugby. This became the root of Canadian football, which is important here for it later had a large influence on American football’s development.

Over the next decade American football developed a reputation as a high injury and high mortality sport. Eighteen players were killed in 1905 alone. This was in part due to lack of protective gear and the use of interlocking defensive formations, as well as a tendency for teammates to drag ball-carrying players forward to gain extra yards. The year 1905 began a period of reform through which was developed a neutral zone between scrimmage lines. Furthermore, it was mandatory that six players from each team were positioned at this neutral zone. The forward pass, a distinct break from rugby and a signature of American football, was also legalized at this time.

Professional football came to compete with college football for a fan base around the end of the Second World War. Games were higher scoring and faster paced, thanks to the development of the “T formation”, and the first West Coast team was established when the Cleveland Rams moved to LA. By 1950 professional football became one of America’s major sports. Television gave sports fans the opportunity to cheer for and against star players such as Paul Hornung, Johnny Unitas, and Bobby Layne. Surging popularity enabled football to expand into two leagues, but this experiment was short lived. In 1970 the AFL and NFL merged and formed two “conferences”, the American Football Conference, and the National Football Conference. Another result of this merger was the now wildly popular Super Bowl –most years rated the most watched television program in America. The year 1970 also founded another important American football institution, Monday Night Football.

Both college and professional football remain popular to this day, watched nation-wide by fans on Saturdays and Sundays respectively. Thanks to careful rule changes and additions over the years the game is now more fast-paced and less injurious to players than at any other point in its history. So popular, in fact, is American football among spectators that the game has spread across the globe to Mexico, Europe, and even Japan, where it continues to flourish and evolve.

Convert Khmer Fonts

From now, you don't have to worry about your data which is written in legacy font ( ABC, Limon...) and want to have them in Unicode font or vice versa. With Khmerconverter enables you to convert in both directions and supports many legacy fonts and file formats as described in Key Features. More over, It even makes you easy because Graphical User Interface is now available. It is a platform independent which means that Windows, Linux or other platforms are also supported.

Actually... the most of Cambodia people are using Khmer Limon Fonts to write their document. some time i need make a document with Limon Font but unfortunately i am not good with Limon Typing at all... so i can just write in Khmer Unicode then convert them to Unicode. because my Unicode typing is more faster.

Legacy to Unicode font converters

Lin Chear developed the first ABC font to Unicode converter that works on text files, producing HTML as output. A Windows version in ZIP format may be found here.

Then we got down to it here at the project office and have developed two new Windows converters that produce Khmer Unicode utf-8 text as output. One of them takes a Limon font plain text file as input and another one takes an ABC plain text file. We have worked on the little nuisances of conversion, trying to work out all the ambiguities in legacy fonts:

Differentiating between SRA U and the lower forms of TRAISAP and MUSIKATOAN.
Recognising most of the cases in which PO + SRA A are used instead of the letter NYO.
Getting most of the cases of Coeng TA and Coeng DA correctly.
Reordering Register Shifters and diacritics when they are located in the wrong place.
Reordering Vowels and Coeng consonants when they are in the wrong order.

what will happen in 2012?

The Mayan civilization predicted that on December 21, 2012 something will happen to the world we know. Something will happen that will change our civilization, value systems and the way we know human civilization forever.

What does that means? What did the Mayan see through their spiritual wisdom?

According to scientists and technologists something strange is happening behind the scene. The terrestrial and solar polar reversal peaks are coming within three weeks of that day, December 21, 2012. Innumerable UFOs are scouting our skies regularly and increasing as we approach that day. The tectonic plate shifts, underwater volcanoes, earthquakes, landslides and Tsunamis are increasing at rates never seen before. The solar flares are increasing. The earth’s magnetosphere and ionosphere are experiencing strange disturbances. The numbers of typhoons and cyclones have increased many folds. The number of floods and droughts has increased beyond imaginations in the last ten years.

Scientists who look beyond conventional science point out that that the Hyperspace that contain our Universe is also showing signs that something strange is happening in our universe. The multidimensional time research is showing that a parallel universe may be predicting strange effects.

According to some scientists it is possible that another Universe is slowly starting to claim a spatial dimension in our physical Universe. It is also possible that we will face major calamities because of the polar reversal in the Sun and in Earth. If that happens, it is possible that the hyperspace has to adjust the suction force known as gravity and Electromagnetic force fields to keep the earth and the solar system intact.

The biggest clue to what will happen comes from astrophysicists. There is a big possibility that the simultaneous polar reversal in earth and sun will throw the solar system out of whack. That will cause massive upheaval in the earth. At that point of time, the extraterrestrials will officially show up and put “cosmic seat belts” around us as they apply the superpower of the Hyperspace to bring the solar system back to what it is today.

According to think tanks, this has happened before. The extraterrestrials take care of the earth and the solar system whenever the solar system faces challenges like that.

Man with Half body can walk again

With all surviving odds against him, Peng Shulin’s body was cut in half by a large transport truck in 1995, leaving his doctors shocked and amazed by his survival. Not only is it a miracle that he has lived to tell the tale, he’s now learning to walk again.

It took a team of more than 20 doctors working feverishly to save his life. Skin was grafted from his head to close his torso up, but his lower body could not be saved — leaving him to ’stand’ a full 2 feet 6 inches (78 centimeters) in height.

After being bedridden for years, doctors in China didn’t have very much hope that he would ever be able to lead any form of a normal life again.

Peng began exercising his arms and building his strength up to carry out daily routine chores, empowering him to do things such as washing his face and brushing his teeth.

When doctors at the China Rehabilitation Research Centre in Beijing found out about Peng’s quandary, they teamed together to devise a program to get him walking once more.

They came up with an ingenious way to allow him to walk on his own merit by creating a sophisticated ‘egg cup-like’ casing to hold his body with two bionic legs attached to it.

With the aid of his uniquely adapted legs and resized walking frame, Peng has been taking his first steps around the centre.

Peng is thrilled with his device, and the opportunity it affords him to learn to walk again.

Taekwondo, also spelled Tae Kwon Do, is a Korean martial art with roots dating back some 2,000 years. It is known as Korea's national sport and is now an athletic event in the Olympics.

Self-Defense Training

Tae Kwon Do is excellent exercise.

When exercise is done consistently, invaluable physical and mental improvements occur. Students develop real and lasting self-confidence. Taekwondo students do exercises which develop strength, flexibility, endurance, speed, balance, memory, concentration, coordination and self-control; to name a few. One of the keys to the success of Taekwondo is that the exercises are fun, the students see results, and they are inspired to do more.

Tae Kwon Do Training Develops Self-Confidence

Success in a personal development program, such as a Taekwondo class, where the students experience noticeable increases in strength, flexibility, memory, coordination, and self-defense skills, as the result of a dedicated effort, is an excellent foundation for self-confidence. It is self-confidence based on physical and mental self-improvement, as opposed to self-confidence based on one's athletic performance. This self-confidence is deep; it is not subject to the results of tomorrow's game. HIV/AIDS in cambodia

Many people will know what is HIV/AIDS ? now you will know about HIV/AIDS and Population of HIV/AID in Cambodia also.

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is the virus that causes AIDS. This virus may be passed from one person to another when infected blood, semen, or vaginal secretions come in contact with an uninfected person’s broken skin or mucous membranes*. In addition, infected pregnant women can pass HIV to their baby during pregnancy or delivery, as well as through breast-feeding. People with HIV have what is called HIV infection. Some of these people will develop AIDS as a result of their HIV infection.

AIDS stands for Acquired Immuno deficiency Syndrome.

Acquired – means that the disease is not hereditary but develops after birth from contact with a disease causing agent (in this case, HIV).

Immunodeficiency – means that the disease is characterized by a weakening of the immune system.

Syndrome – refers to a group of symptoms that collectively indicate or characterize a disease. In the case of AIDS this can include the development of certain infections and/or cancers, as well as a decrease in the number of certain cells in a person’s immune system.

A diagnosis of AIDS is made by a physician using specific clinical or laboratory standards.

Sihanouk ville : Taekwondo with bible study

About 16,000 South Koreans work in foreign countries as Christian missionaries. Only the US sends more people abroad to win converts to Christianity.

In the city of Sihanoukville, Southern Cambodia, I found Korean Protestant missionaries competing with one another, trying to convert locals to their own Protestant denomination.

But the missionaries don't just offer Christianity.

The Kompongsom Taekwondo Federation in Sihanoukville is sponsored by the Presbyterian Yangmoon Church in Taegu, South Korea.

It is run by retired military commander Kim Ka-Jung, who offers Taekwondo classes to young Cambodians. After class, the youngsters sing hymns and listen to a sermon.

The missionaries call this the "contact point" method of conversion. Potential converts are offered lessons or accommodation before being presented with the message of the gospel.

Bible school

Downstairs is the Kompongsom Bible Presbyterian Church run by Pastor Moses Hahn and his wife Grace.

Mr Hahn offers free English lessons, food and accommodation in his "Bible School", where he trains young non-Christian Cambodians to be pastors after only three years. He says they are usually baptised after six months.

A former factory worker who is now a third-year student, tells me she is happy to have been offered free food, lodging, and some education.

It is more than she could have expected from her job in the textile factory.

A few kilometres away, the first Christian University of Cambodia has been set up by another Korean missionary, Reverend David Gu.

From a huge building erected at the foot of the Buddhist Pagoda of Sihanoukville, he aims to educate "a new Christian leadership" for Cambodia.

David Gu says his Christian University of Cambodia has 600 students of all grades, from nursery to college.

At the Taekwondo Federation, 200 children attend the Sunday school. Downstairs in the Bible school, Pastor Moses Hahn boasts 60 students, as well as 50 graduates who are working as pastors around the country.

Kampong Cham, Cambodia

Kampong Cham is the third largest city in Cambodia. Despite not having as many tourist attractions as Phnom Penh or Angkor Wat, this charming city is the best place to get a feel of the “real” Cambodia. The remnants of French colonial rule are here, as are modern improvements to this one poor area’s infrastructure. The real charm of Kampong Cham lies with its people. Despite their almost universal poverty and the brutal history of their country, the people of Kampong Cham are mostly friendly, happy-go-lucky folks who are welcoming to tourists.

Because there is still not much in the way of a tourist industry in Kampong Cham, visitors will have to arrange their own transport. Motorcycle riders will be able to rent bikes, although many tourists take advantage of the cheap prices and purchase their own bike. Non motorcycle riders, and those who don’t want to risk Cambodia’s sometimes crazy roads can find motorcycle drivers (motodops) to drive them. There are also cars for hire.

Though there are a few temples, the best things to do in Kampong Cham and the surrounding area (Kampong Cham Province) is just to hang out or cruise the countryside. Within the city, it is worth checking out the markets. There is all the hustle and bustle of a Southeast Asian market, but with Kampong Cham’s unique charm and friendly local people. It’s a great place to socialize, even if you don’t speak Khmer. Because this is an outlying area, the food is probably not as safe for a western stomach. However, people who have been in Cambodia for a while, or those who just want to jump in, can find great food stalls at some of these markets. As a general rule, if the place has multiple patrons and seems clean, it’s probably OK.

After a hard day, the improvised beer halls on the banks of the Mekong are the best place to be. Beer is dirt cheap (Angkor, Tiger), and the locals will definitely be around to socialize.

Just cruising in the countryside, past the fruit and vegetable farms, and local villages (including several stilt house villages along the Mekong) is reward enough for most tourists. Those seeking "untourist" attraction will find a couple of temples in the area worth checking out. Thousand year old Nokor Temples is the most famous in the area, but be prepared to wander by yourself unless you happen upon one of the monks who live there.

A cruise on a slow boat (as opposed to a fast one) on the Mekong would be a great way to end a visit to this sleepy but charming ville.

For me i have been in Kampung Cham so many times, and i alway spend my time to hang out around River Side under Kizona bridge.

However, the history of the New Years Day is almost as old as the human conception of time itself. From the advent of the first calendars in Mesopotamia thousands of years ago, New Years Day has been a time for friends, family and celebrations.

According to history, New Years Day was celebrated at least as far back as 2000 BC. Although it was probably celebrated earlier than that, this is the when actual records of the celebrations occur. These records show that the Babylonians, from whom we get so many traditions concerning everything from the way we do math to how we keep track of the stars, celebrated New Years Day on the day when the moon was just visible after having gone dark after the vernal (spring ) equinox. This would have put New Years Day for the Ancient Babylonians near the end of March or possibly the beginning of April, depending on the year. The celebration was tied not just to the new year, but also to the planting of the crops and the earth coming back to life after winter.

Some of the traditions we associate with New Years Day originate with the Babylonians. For example, the tradition of New Years resolutions is thought to have begun at this time. History tells us that the custom of making a New Year’s resolution began with the Babylonian custom of returning something that they had borrowed from a neighbor or friend on New Year’s Day. The Romans would carry on the custom of the resolution by promising themselves to ask for forgiveness from an enemy or someone they had wronged the previous year.

New Years Day still has strong associations with things that are young and new, like the New Year’s Baby. This tradition, however, is not Babylonian in origin, but with the Greeks and the Egyptians. Both of these cultures also celebrated New Years in the spring time, and the celebration of spring and newness and plantings and fertility were big themes in the celebrations. In the Greek tradition, Baby New Year is Dionysus, the god of wine, being reborn as the spirit of fertility. They would parade babies around the city and the festivals in baskets as a symbol of Dionysus’s rebirth.

Another New Year’s tradition that we get from the ancients is celebrating the very minute that the New Year begins. Today we have precise ways of measuring time and know to the exact second when the new year begins. While the ancients did not have the luxury of atomic clocks, they did believe that the first things a person did on the first day of the new year would affect the luck they would or would not enjoy over the coming year. That is why it was important to begin the year with friends, family, food and fun; it was thought to bring good luck for the rest of the year.

Like most pagan holidays, the church frowned upon celebrating this particular holiday in the beginning. St. Eligius, who lived in Europe in the 600’s, warned against celebrating New Years Day. One of the reasons why the church acquiesced in its quest to ban the New Year celebration is because of the symbol of the baby. Although they tried to associate the infant with Christ, and the baby Christ is a powerful symbol, the association never really caught on and most people think of the two as separate entities. Still, the celebrations continue to this day with the traditions passed down to us over thousands of years.

History suggests that the first people to wear wedding rings were Egyptians. The bride and groom would wear rings made of straw, grass, or hay on their left hand as a symbol of their marriage.

Although weddings and wedding celebrations occur in some form or fashion all over the world and have since people began organizing themselves into societies, most of the history and traditions associated with modern marriages are actually fairly recent. Unlike holidays like New Years, which has been celebrated for at least 4,000 years, wedding day traditions like the white dress are not quite so old. However, there are some of the traditions that are very old, many of which we get from those forbearers of our civilization, the Greeks and the Romans.

One example of this is the wedding ring. The wedding ring is one of the oldest traditions associated with marriage. History suggests that the first people to wear wedding rings were Egyptians. The bride and groom would wear rings made of straw, grass, or hay on their left hand as a symbol of their marriage. The ring is traditionally worn on the left hand because the ancient Egyptians believed that there was a vein that ran directly from the left hand to the heart. The Romans continued on with the tradition of having a wedding band and also believed that there was a vein that went from the left hand to the heart. The Romans were probably the first people to wear wedding bands made out of metal, in this case, usually iron.

We also get the tradition of the wedding cake from the Romans. The wedding cake actually began as loaves of bread. At the wedding, the bread would be broken over the bride’s head to guarantee a long life and lots of healthy children. Over the years, this tradition evolved and changed. By the medieval ages in Europe, wedding guests were bringing miniature cakes to the wedding as gifts for the bride and groom. People would put the cakes on top of each other, making as tall of a stack as they possibly could so that the bride and the groom couldn’t kiss each other over the wedding cake. If they could kiss each other over the cake, that was thought to be a sign of good fortune. Over the years, people began making tall and tiered wedding cakes with a little figurine of the bride and groom on top that were iced and actually meant to be eaten.

The wedding dress as we know it today is a much more recent tradition. Depending on who you ask, there are several different explanations for how the wedding dress got to be the way it is. According to some, the white wedding dress was made popular by a woman named Anne of Britany. She wore a white gown when she married in 1499. Today we associate white with purity and virginity, but in 1499, the color white would have most been associated with joy. A competing story holds that Queen Victoria of England started the trend of wearing white to weddings by wearing a white dress to her own wedding in 1840. In this case, the white really was used to symbolize virginity. Whichever story you choose to believe, it is the case that the bridesmaids are to dress up so that they will be beautiful like the bride. This is supposed to confuse the evil spirits that may want to harm the bride.

Another modern tradition that started much later is the wedding invitation. The wedding invitation, with its decorations and calligraphy, were used by aristocrats and nobles beginning in 18th century England. The invitations were a signal of wealth and were used as a fancy way to announce the marriage of a child. It was reserved for wealthy people until the early part of the 20th century, when people started making invitations on printing presses instead of by hand.

These spirits, according to the legends, were especially strong when someone was undergoing a change in their life, such as getting married, having a child or, in this case, turning a year older. This is in fact why the tradition of having a party on one’s birthday began. It was believed that by having lots of friends and family around, by laughing and having a good time, that the evil spirits could be kept at bay. Similarly, it is believed that loud noises scared off the evil spirits, which is why we have noise makers and sing songs and such as part of our birthday celebrations.

The traditions of birthday card and birthday presents are closely related to this. Ancient people mostly brought good wishes and thoughts for the person whose birthday they were celebrating, in the same way that we bring birthday cards with wishes for the person’s emotional and physical well-being for the next year. Although people didn’t routinely bring presents, it was an especially fortuitous sign if they did, it was supposed to bring the person extra good luck for the next year. Today, when bring well wishes and presents for or friends and family on their birthdays, we are really protecting them from evil spirits, according to ancient humans.

Other birthday traditions, like making a wish on candles, also originated from the beliefs about evil and good spirits. There are two lines of thinking about birthday candles; one is that the flames would send a signal to the good spirits or the gods. Another theory about birthday candles is that the smoke and the fire some how warded off the bad spirits. This can been seen in other areas today as many cultures light fires and use smudge sticks, which smoke, to chase away evil spirits. Either way, it is clear that the tradition of blowing out candles was a very early part of the birthday celebration

Lastly, there is the tradition of wearing a hat or a crown. It is believed by most historians that birthday celebrations were the most common among the rich and nobility. This is because these are the only people who could afford to have a party. They could afford things like presents and sweets and candles that went along with having a birthday celebration. It is largely believed that being the king for the day and the tradition of wearing a hat or a crown originated with the celebrations of a birthday among the nobility.

As you can see, the birthday celebration is very old and many of the traditions we associate with it are very old too. One that isn’t old is the birthday song. Although people probably have been singing at birthday parties since the very first one, the actual birthday song as we know it didn’t come about until 1935. The melody was written in 1890 by a woman named Mildred Hill. The words were later written by her sister, Patti Hill and published in 1935. The song was made popular in a Broadway play that was staged a couple years later called “As Thousands Cheer.”

Show Hidden Files and Folders not working?

Show Hidden Files and Folders not working?..... If we select the radio button “Show hidden files and folders” and then press Ok.. the changes would just disappear upon opening the dialog again. It was probably some virus attack after which the Windows registry was not being updated properly. So here is what methods to restore it back. There are so many methods to restore back the registry. If one method is not working, please try another one.

Method 1:

Go to registry editor by running regedit in the run box. Go to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explore\Advanced

In the right hand area, double click hidden and change the value to 1.

Now you’re all set to go. Check it in your tools menu if the changes have taken effect.

Method 2: 

1. Click “Start” -> “Run…” (or press Windows key + R)
2. Type “regedit” and click “Ok”.
3. Find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
4. Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t, delete the key.
5. Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1.
6. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally. Enjoy!

Method 3:

1- Click Start –> Run –> regsvr32 /i browseui.dll –> enter

A confirmation message will appear like given below

How to Uninstall Malware

Malware often gets installed on your computer without your knowledge or consent, usually when you access a particular website. It is a type of malicious software that serves no useful purpose from your point of view and can include viruses, worms, and programs that illegally allow remote access to your system. Malware is often placed on your PC for marketing purposes — it may collect your personal information or track your browsing habits in order to be able to sell to you more effectively. The information collected can, of course, be used for more dishonest purposes and at best the malware is likely to slow things down, particularly when browsing the internet.

Some malware operates under a particular guise with the aim of persuading you to spend money. Malware defender is reputed to be such a program, appearing to be security software, but with the trial version triggering off fake alarms to encourage you to upgrade to the paid for version.

The best course of action is to prevent any kind of malicious software getting on to your PC in the first place. For this, you need to install a good quality anti-virus program and ensure you keep it up-to-date. If something does get through, what you must do is to remove malware without delay.

How to Uninstall Malware

In some cases, you might be fortunate in that the malicious software may be recognizable and properly installed so that you can remove malware as you would any other program. Select Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features (depending on your operating system version) in the Control Panel. A list of currently installed programs will appear and you may be able to identify the malware on the list. If so, select it and choose to uninstall.

Malware, by its nature, tends to be secretive software and so will not normally be listed for removal like a normal program. You may be able to remove malware automatically by running a scan with anti-virus or anti-spyware software. Windows Defender, which comes with Windows Vista and is available as a free download for XP, may also be able to uninstall malware. Failing this, you can do this manually but it involves a number of steps and you need to proceed carefully. Before starting, create a restore point so you can get back to a working version in case of problems.

The first step is to stop the malware running. If you know what it’s called, press the Ctrl, Alt and Del keys together to load the Task Manager, select the Processes tab, click on the malicious software entry and choose to end the process. Alternatively, restart your computer in safe mode (press the F8 key while it is restarting and then choose the safe mode), which should ensure the malware is disabled.

You can stop the malware running in future by clearing it from the task scheduler (right-click My Computer, select Manage followed by Task Scheduler) or the Startup folder in the Start menu. In older version of Windows, check the autorun.ini and autoexec.bat files and remove its entry.

To actually remove malware manually is a bit more complex and requires that you clear its entries from the registry. You will need to know the name of the malware and its registry entry. At the Start menu, select Run, type ‘regedit’ and click OK. Scroll down to the registry entry and delete it.

Malware often has associated direct link library (dll) files and you must delete these. At the Start menu, select Run, type ‘regsvr32 /u [dll_name]’, where dll_name is the name to be cleared. Press Enter to unregister it.

The final step is to delete the malware files themselves. Open Windows Explorer, ensure all hidden files are visible (in the Tools menu, select Folder Options then choose to ‘Show hidden files and folders’ under the View tab), then identify and delete the files.

Windows 7 is the next upcoming OS from Microsoft. And for some reason, they are not letting out much details about this OS. So I don’t think we’ll be able to get our hands on it any time soon. But what if we get to enjoy its look and feel on Windows XP and Vista, eh? Since not much is known about the OS, this theme looks more like Windows Vista, but its nice to see some refreshing changes to the same old look.

Cambodia Water Festival

Bon Om Touk, Cambodia's Three-Day Riverside Celebration - mid-November

The Cambodian Water Festival (variously spelled in the original Khmer as Bon Om Touk, or Bon Om Thook, or Bonn Om Teuk, or Bon Om Tuk) takes place once a year, on the full moon of the Buddhist month of Kadeuk (usually in November). It celebrates a major natural occurrence: the reversing flow between the Tonle Sap and the Mekong River.

For most of the year, the Tonle Sap empties into the Mekong River. However, when the rainy season arrives in June, the Mekong rises, reversing the flow to dump water into the lake, increasing its size ten-fold. When the rainy season ends in November, the Mekong drops once more, allowing the current to reverse again, emptying the excess waters of Tonle Sap back into the Mekong.

This natural occurrence is celebrated in Cambodia with three days of festivals, fluvial parades, boat races, fireworks, and general merriment.

An Ancient Thanks to the River

Then as now, Tonle Sap is a major focus of life for many Cambodians. It's a source of livelihood for fishermen and farmers alike - it's rich in fish stocks, and the silt deposits left by the floods fertilize the fields. No wonder Cambodians have celebrated Bon Om Touk for centuries - it's a way to give back to the river that's given them so much.

Bon Om Touk dates back to the 12th century, to the time of the Angkorian King Jayavarman VII. The Water Festival was celebrated by the King's Navy to kick off the Cambodian fishing season - the fluvial festivities are meant to keep the river divinities happy, ensuring a bountiful harvest of rice and fish for the year to come.

A competing story holds that Bon Om Touk was a way for the King to prepare his navy for battle. At Bayon near Siem Reap, naval battles have been carved into the stonework, depicting boats not that much different from the boats that race on Tonle Sap today.

Three ceremonies underpin the entire Bon Om Touk celebration:

Loy Pratip: an evening fluvial parade, featuring beautifully-illuminated boats lighting up the waterways. Government institutions sponsor each of the boats on parade.

Sampeas Preah Khe: the salutation to the moon. The full moon is supposed to be a good sign for the coming harvest, which is why Cambodians make sure to give thanks to it on Bon Om Touk, and pray for a bountiful harvest ahead.

Auk Ambok: at midnight, celebrants gather at temples to eat ambok ("flattened rice"), a holiday rice dish. Ambok is simply rice fried in the husk, pounded to remove the husk, and mixed with banana and coconut.

It would be so crowded at night, look so crazy but happy, I am ready to be there with Familly and have fun !

There are two main ways to clean up a computer's registry - cleaning manually using the Windows Registry Editor, or using registry cleaning software. Manually cleaning your computer registry should only be attempted by someone who understands what the registry entries mean. Software programs can cease to function correctly if essential registry entries are removed.

The Windows Registry Editor

To manually clean your registry using the Windows Registry Editor, first create a backup of the registry, and then remove unnecessary files:

A new window to "run" commands
Type regedit
Click OK
At the top of the window click File
Go down to Export
Type a name for the backup file, and click Save

After creating a backup of your registry, you can go to the left side of the registry editor window and view how your computer is configured.

Click on the plus sign to expand a section of the registry editor. A "well-used" area for anyone manually deleting registry files is "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE." This area is used to make registry changes to hardware and software.

In windows environment, the Send To command is used to transfer files from one location to different locations. By using this command, a user can quickly send his file between default destinations (default lists in Send To menu, for example Desktop, CD/DVD Drive, My Documents, Mail Recipient and Floppy Drive). These are the default Send To menu lists in windows XP. To increase the data transfer speed between different locations, you can add more new destination in Send To lists.

Follow the given steps to add new destinations to Send To lists:

Khmer Sport (Bokator)

Bokator, or more formally, (Labokatao) is a Cambodian martial art that includes close hand-to-hand combat, ground techniques and weapons. Bokator is one of the earliest Cambodian martial art and only younger than the Mon-Khmer martial art of yuthakun khom. Oral tradition indicates that bokator or an early form thereof was the close quarter combat system used by the armies of Angkor 1000 years ago. The term bokator translates as "pounding a lion" from the words bok meaning to pound and tor (pronounced "tau" ) meaning lion. A common misunderstanding is that bokatorKhmer martial arts while in reality it only represents one particular style. refers to all Unlike kickboxing, which is a combat sport, bokator was designed to be used on the battlefield. It uses a diverse array of elbow and knee strikes, shin kicks, submissions and ground fighting. Practitioners are trained to strike with knees, hands, elbows, feet, shins, and head. Even the shoulders, hip, jaw, and fingers can be used to fight an opponent to submission or death. Weapons are also used, primarily the bamboo staff and short sticks.

When fighting, bokator exponents still wear the uniforms of ancient Khmer armies. A krama (scarf ) is folded around their waist and blue and red silk cords called sangvar day are tied around the combatants head and biceps. In the past it is said that the cords were enchanted to increase strength, although now they are just ceremonial.
The art contains 341 sets which, like many other Asian martial arts, are based on the study of life in nature. For example there are horse, bird, naga, eagle, and crane styles each containing several techniques. Because of its visual similarity, bokator is often wrongly described as a variant of modern kickboxing. Many forms are based on traditional animal styles as well as straight practical fighting techniques. Pradal Serey is a more condensed fighting system which uses a few of the basic (white krama) punching, elbow, kicking and kneeing techniques and is free of animal styles.
The krama shows the fighter’s level of expertise. The first grade is white, followed by green, blue, red, brown, and finally black, which has 10 degrees. After completing their initial training, fighters wear a black krama for at least another ten years. To attain the gold krama one must be a true master and must have done something great for bokator. This is most certainly a time-consuming and possibly life-long endeavor: in the unarmed portion of the art alone there are between 8000 and 10000 different techniques, only 1000 of which must be learned to attain the black krama.

In the context of spaceflight, a satellite is an object which has been placed into orbit by human endeavor. Such objects are sometimes called artificial satellites to distinguish them from natural satellites such as the Moon. The first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, was launched by the Soviet Union in 1957. By 2009 thousands of satellites had been launched into orbit around the Earth. These originate from more than 50 countries and have used the satellite launching capabilities of ten nations. A few hundred satellites are currently operational, whereas thousands of unused satellites and satellite fragments orbit the Earth as space debris. A few space probes have been placed into orbit around other bodies and become artificial satellites to the Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

Satellites are used for a large number of purposes. Common types include military (spy) and civilian Earth observation satellites, communication satellites, navigation satellites, weather satellites, and research satellites. Space stations and human spacecraft in orbit are also satellites. Satellite orbits vary greatly, depending on the purpose of the satellite, and are classified in a number of ways. Well-known (overlapping) classes include low Earth orbit, polar orbit, and geostationary orbit. Satellites are usually semi-independent computer controlled systems. Satellite subsystems attend many tasks, such as power generation, thermal control, telemetry, attitude control and orbit control.

Early conceptions

The first fictional depiction of a satellite being launched into orbit is a short story by Edward Everett Hale, The Brick Moon. The story is serialized in The Atlantic Monthly, starting in 1869.The idea surfaces again in Jules Verne's The Begum's Fortune (1879). In 1903 Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857–1935) published The Exploration of Cosmic Space by Means of Reaction Devices which is the first academic treatise on the use of rocketry to launch spacecraft. He calculated the orbital speed required for a minimal orbit around the Earth at 8 km/s, and that a multi-stage rocket fueled by liquid propellants could be used to achieve this. He proposed the use of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen, though other combination can be used.

In 1935 Slovenian Herman Potočnik (1930–1896) published his sole book, The Problem of Space Travel — The Rocket Motor. a plan for a breakthrough into space and a permanent human presence there. He conceived of a space station in detail and calculated its geostationary orbit. He described the use of orbiting spacecraft for detailed peaceful and military observation of the ground and described how the special conditions of space could be useful for scientific experiments. The book described geostationary satellites (first put forward by Tsiolkovsky) and discussed communication between them and the ground using radio, but fell short of the idea of using satellites for mass broadcasting and as telecommunications relays. In a 1945 Wireless World article the English science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke (1917-2008) described in detail the possible use of communications satellites for mass communications.Clarke examined the logistics of satellite launch, possible orbits and other aspects of the creation of a network of world-circling satellites, pointing to the benefits of high-speed global communications. He also suggested that three geostationary satellites would provide coverage over the entire planet.

History of artificial satellites

The first artificial satellite was Sputnik 1, launched by the Soviet Union on 4 October 1957, and initiating the Soviet Sputnik program, with Sergei Korolev as chief designer and Kerim Kerimov as his assistant.This in turn triggered the Space Race between the Soviet Union and the United States.

Sputnik 1 helped to identify the density of high atmospheric layers through measurement of its orbital change and provided data on radio-signal distribution in the ionosphere. Because the satellite's body was filled with pressurized nitrogen, Sputnik 1 also provided the first opportunity for meteoroid detection, as a loss of internal pressure due to meteoroid penetration of the outer surface would have been evident in the temperature data sent back to Earth. The unanticipated announcement of Sputnik 1's success precipitated the Sputnik crisis in the United States and ignited the so-called Space Race within the Cold War.

Sputnik 2 was launched on November 3, 1957 and carried the first living passenger into orbit, a dog named Laika.

In May, 1946, Project RAND had released the Preliminary Design of a Experimental World-Circling Spaceship, which stated, "A satellite vehicle with appropriate instrumentation can be expected to be one of the most potent scientific tools of the Twentieth Century.The United States had been considering launching orbital satellites since 1945 under the Bureau of Aeronautics of the United States Navy. The United States Air Force's Project RAND eventually released the above report, but did not believe that the satellite was a potential military weapon; rather, they considered it to be a tool for science, politics, and propaganda. In 1954, the Secretary of Defense stated, "I know of no American satellite program."

On July 29, 1955, the White House announced that the U.S. intended to launch satellites by the spring of 1958. This became known as Project Vanguard. On July 31, the Soviets announced that they intended to launch a satellite by the fall of 1957.

Following pressure by the American Rocket Society, the National Science Foundation, and the International Geophysical Year, military interest picked up and in early 1955 the Air Force and Navy were working on Project Orbiter, which involved using a Jupiter C rocket to launch a satellite. The project succeeded, and Explorer 1 became the United States' first satellite on January 31, 1958.

In June 1961, three-and-a-half years after the launch of Sputnik 1, the Air Force used resources of the United States Space Surveillance Network to catalog 115 Earth-orbiting satellites.

In June 2009, World Health Organization declared that flu due to a new strain of swine-origin H1N1 was responsible for the 2009 flu pandemic. This strain is often called "swine flu" by the public media.

In few days ago I listen to Radio (VAO, RFA, RFI) I heard that there was a 40 years old woman was killed by H1N1. And Prime Minister Hun Sen also announced on Monday to be careful with this (Urgss... Unbelievable). The virus has infected 88 people in the country so far, and the death has put health officials on alert. “This is the first case,” Hun Sen said, at the inauguration of a new Ministry of Tourism building. “She had been sick for a long time. Cambodia saw its first cases of the H1N1 flu, sometimes called swine flu, in June, first in traveling US students. The World Health Organization estimates more then 300,000 cases of the flu have been confirmed globally, with more than 3,900 dying.

On June 23, the New York Times reported that U.S. federal agriculture officials, "contrary to the popular assumption that the new swine flu pandemic arose on factory farms in Mexico," now believe that it "most likely emerged in pigs in Asia, but then traveled to North America in a human." They emphasized that there was no way to prove their theory, but stated that there is no evidence that this new virus, which combines Eurasian and North American genes, has ever circulated in North American pigs, "while there is tantalizing evidence that a closely related 'sister virus' has circulated in Asia."

In early June 2009, using computational methods developed over the last ten years, an international team of researchers attempted to reconstruct the origins and timescale of the 2009 flu pandemic. Dr Oliver Pybus of Oxford University's Department of Zoology, and part of the research team, claims "Our results show that this strain has been circulating among pigs, possibly among multiple continents, for many years prior to its transmission to humans." The research team that worked on this report also believe that it was "derived from several viruses circulating in swine," and that the initial transmission to humans occurred several months before recognition of the outbreak. The team concluded that "despite widespread influenza surveillance in humans, the lack of systematic swine surveillance allowed for the undetected persistence and evolution of this potentially pandemic strain for many years."

According to the researchers, movement of live pigs between Eurasia and North America "seems to have facilitated the mixing of diverse swine influenza viruses, leading to the multiple reassortment events associated with the genesis of the (new H1N1) strain." They also stated that this new pandemic "provides further evidence of the role of domestic pigs in the ecosystem of influenza A." Some experts also suspect that a leading cause of the new virus outbreak is insufficient surveillance by the pork industry and the fact that "animal husbandry now more closely resembles the petrochemical industry than the happy family farm"

Contagiousness

The virus is contagious and is believed to spread from human to human in much the same way as seasonal flu. The most common mechanisms by which it spreads are by droplets from coughs and sneezes of infected people, and touching a surface or the hand of a person contaminated with virus, and then touching one's mouth or nose.H1N1/09 is more contagious than seasonal flu, and infected people are contagious for longer than had been thought. The US CDC had recommended that people should wait at least a day after their fever subsides (usually 3-4 days after the onset of symptoms) before resuming normal activities, but it has been found that they can continue to shed virus for several days after that.

A computer is a machine that manipulates data according to a set of instructions. Although mechanical examples of computers have existed through much of recorded human history, the first electronic computers were developed in the mid-20th century (1940–1945). These were the size of a large room, consuming as much power as several hundred modern personal computers (PCs). Modern computers based on integrated circuits are millions to billions of times more capable than the early machines, and occupy a fraction of the space. Simple computers are small enough to fit into a wristwatch, and can be powered by a watch battery. Personal computers in their various forms are icons of the Information Age and are what most people think of as "computers". The embedded computers found in many devices from MP3 players to fighter aircraft and from toys to industrial robots are however the most numerous.The ability to store and execute lists of instructions called programs makes computers extremely versatile, distinguishing them from calculators. The Church–Turing thesis is a mathematical statement of this versatility: any computer with a certain minimum capability is, in principle, capable of performing the same tasks that any other computer can perform. Therefore computers ranging from a mobile phone to a supercomputer are all able to perform the same computational tasks, given enough time and storage capacity.

The first use of the word "computer" was recorded in 1613, referring to a person who carried out calculations, or computations, and the word continued to be used in that sense until the middle of the 20th century. From the end of the 19th century onwards though, the word began to take on its more familiar meaning, describing a machine that carries out computations.The history of the modern computer begins with two separate technologies—automated calculation and programmability—but no single device can be identified as the earliest computer, partly because of the inconsistent application of that term. Examples of early mechanical calculating devices include the abacus, the slide rule and arguably the astrolabe and the Antikythera mechanism (which dates from about 150–100 BC). Hero of Alexandria (c. 10–70 AD) built a mechanical theater which performed a play lasting 10 minutes and was operated by a complex system of ropes and drums that might be considered to be a means of deciding which parts of the mechanism performed which actions and when. This is the essence of programmability.

The "castle clock", an astronomical clock invented by Al-Jazari in 1206, is considered to be the earliest programmable analog computer. It displayed the zodiac, the solar and lunar orbits, a crescent moon-shaped pointer traveling across a gateway causing automatic doors to open every hour, and five robotic musicians who played music when struck by levers operated by a camshaft attached to a water wheel. The length of day and night could be re-programmed to compensate for the changing lengths of day and night throughout the year.

The Renaissance saw a re-invigoration of European mathematics and engineering. Wilhelm Schickard's 1623 device was the first of a number of mechanical calculators constructed by European engineers, but none fit the modern definition of a computer, because they could not be programmed.In 1801, Joseph Marie Jacquard made an improvement to the textile loom by introducing a series of punched paper cards as a template which allowed his loom to weave intricate patterns automatically. The resulting Jacquard loom was an important step in the development of computers because the use of punched cards to define woven patterns can be viewed as an early, albeit limited, form of programmability. It was the fusion of automatic calculation with programmability that produced the first recognizable computers. In 1837, Charles Babbage was the first to conceptualize and design a fully programmable mechanical computer, his analytical engine. Limited finances and Babbage's inability to resist tinkering with the design meant that the device was never completed.

In the late 1880, Herman Hollerith invented the recording of data on a machine readable medium. Prior uses of machine readable media, above, had been for control, not data. "After some initial trials with paper tape, he settled on punched cards ..."To process these punched cards he invented the tabulator, and the keypunch machines. These three inventions were the foundation of the modern information processing industry. Large-scale automated data processing of punched cards was performed for the 1890 United States Census by Hollerith's company, which later became the core of IBM. By the end of the 19th century a number of technologies that would later prove useful in the realization of practical computers had begun to appear: the punched card, Boolean algebra, the vacuum tube (thermionic valve) and the teleprinter. During the first half of the 20th century, many scientific computing needs were met by increasingly sophisticated analog computers, which used a direct mechanical or electrical model of the problem as a basis for computation. However, these were not programmable and generally lacked the versatility and accuracy of modern digital computers. Alan Turing is widely regarded to be the father of modern computer science. In 1936 Turing provided an influential formalization of the concept of the algorithm and computation with the Turing machine. Of his role in the modern computer, Time Magazine in naming Turing one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century, states: "The fact remains that everyone who taps at a keyboard, opening a spreadsheet or a word-processing program, is working on an incarnation of a Turing machine."

The inventor of the program-controlled computer was Konrad Zuse, who built the first working computer in 1941 and later in 1955 the first computer based on magnetic storage.George Stibitz is internationally recognized as a father of the modern digital computer. While working at Bell Labs in November 1937, Stibitz invented and built a relay-based calculator he dubbed the "Model K" (for "kitchen table”, on which he had assembled it), which was the first to use binary circuits to perform an arithmetic operation. Later models added greater sophistication including complex arithmetic and program ability.

For all Computer User, I think absolutely know what Computer Virus is. A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer without the permission or knowledge of the owner. The term "Viruses" is also commonly but erroneously used to refer to other types of malware, adware, and spyware programs that do not have the reproductive ability. A true virus can only spread from one computer to another (in some form of executable code) when its host is taken to the target computer; for instance because a user sent it over a network or the Internet, or carried it on a removable medium such as a Floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB drive. Viruses can increase their chances of spreading to other computers by infecting files on a network file system or a file system that is accessed by another computer.

The term "computer virus" is sometimes used as a catch-all phrase to include all types of malware. Malware includes computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, most rootkits, spyware, dishonest adware, crimeware, and other malicious and unwanted software, including true viruses. Viruses are sometimes confused with computer worms and Trojan horses, which are technically different. A worm can exploit security vulnerabilities to spread itself to other computers without needing to be transferred as part of a host, and a Trojan horse is a program that appears harmless but has a hidden agenda. Worms and Trojans, like viruses, may cause harm to either a computer system's hosted data, functional performance, or networking throughput, when they are executed. Some viruses and other malware have symptoms noticeable to the computer user, but many are surreptitious.
Most personal computers are now connected to the Internet and to local area networks, facilitating the spread of malicious code. Today's viruses may also take advantage of network services such as the World Wide Web, e-mail, Instant Messaging, and file sharing systems to spread.

So…. All what I’m talking above just a little bit explanation about Virus, there are many computers in the world were destroyed by those Viruses. But however we can use some Anti Virus to protect them such as:

Avira, AVG, Bitdefender, or Kapersky, more and more…….

But if when you have tried to use those Anti Viruses but it still not be safe in your computer. I’ll let you know the Best Option to Protect your COMPUTER, It’s very easy just use Condom to protect your Network .

Change "Start" Button text in Windows XP

We all know that the "Start" button is one of the first things that a person starts to get familiar with whenever he/she encounters a computer. Now, after using computers for years, I've grown to be rather bored of the monosyllabic text on my "Start" button. Then, while I was browsing some sites, I stumbled upon an article regarding just how to do so.

There are 3 methods posted on the original post but since one method involves Reshacking, i won't delve into that, instead posting only the other 2 ways.

Method 1

1. Download Start Button Caption, extract and run StartB.exe
2. Enter your specified name in the text box and press Change Start Button Name. As shown, there is an option to revert back to the default text.

Method 2

1. Get Start Button Renamer and install the.msi file.
2. Run Start Button Renamer and enter the intended text in the text box and select Click Here To Rename Start Button.

Note: Only the first 5 letters will be shown and will be displayed upon restart of Windows.

How to hide Drive in Window XP

You can instruct Explorer to not display a drive(s) in the My Computer display. When enabled,

this policy removes the icons representing the selected disk drives from My Computer, Windows Explorer, and My Network Places and from Common Dialogs.

Note that the registry key is Policies\Explorer.

For example, you create partition E: and use it exclusively for NT's pagefile. To prevent a (possibly ignorant) user from browsing to that partition and deleting files that should not be deleted, apply the following Windows NT / Windows 2000 Registry hack :

Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Name: NoDrives

Type: REG_DWORD

Value: To calculate the value, add together the numbers for the drives you want to hide, using the formula:

A=1

B=2

C=4

D=8

E=16

F=32

G=64 and so forth.

To hide D: and E: the value would be 8+16=24.

This setting allows you to control which drives are visible in My Computer and Explorer. It is possible to hide all drives or just selected ones.

Honeymoon History

For many couples, the high point of the wedding is the honeymoon. While modern societies view the honeymoon as a chance for newlyweds to leave behind all the worries of their regular lives and all of the stress of planning the wedding to enjoy themselves in private, usually at an exotic location.

That wasn't always the case.

Unfortunately, no one knows for sure where the honeymoon tradition began or even where the word originated, but there are a few theories.

The oldest explanation dates back to ancient Babylonian times. According to this theory, the bride's father would provide the couple with mead for one month after the marriage which the couple drank daily during that time. Because the mead was made of honey and because the month would have been measured by the phases of the moon, not by a modern calendar, this period became known as the honeymoon.

A later, less pleasant, explanation is slightly more recent and comes from the Scandinavian region of Europe around the area and the time when Vikings called it home. Folklore claims that the way to find a bride then was to capture one from a neighboring village. Since the kidnapping would not be taken well by a bride's family, the husband would have to take her into hiding. During this time, her family would be searching for her. However, when they gave up the search, the couple could emerge and go on with their new lives.

A different variation of this tale explains the connection between sex and the honeymoon. Basically, the husband knew the only way he could keep the wife was if she became pregnant. This meant that while they were in hiding he would be spending the time trying to accomplish that feat. Only when the new bride was with child would it be safe for him and her to leave their hiding place.

While these stories are interesting, there aren't many facts to support any of these theories. What we do know is that according to the Oxford English Dictionary the word Honeymoon was first used in the mid-16^th century to describe the inconsistency of marital bliss. The marriage begins sweetly and pleasantly like honey but doesn't stay that way for long just as the moon never stays in one phase for very long. At the time when the word was first being used, there was no connection between it and any kind of trip for recently married couples.

By the Victorian era, however, married couples were already engaging in what we traditionally think of as a honeymoon. They would leave after their early morning reception with the best man accompanying them to the train station (the most common method of transportation at the time). Only the best man would know their destination, and he was forbidden to tell anyone so the couple would not be bothered during their trip. Incidentally, the couple would try to keep a low profile because Victorian era men were embarrassed if others recognized them as newly married.Read related page in Khmer Language
